Question 1

What is the difference between raw oud wood, oud oil and oud perfume?

Accepted Answer

Raw wood is resinous agarwood chips burned over heat as bakhoor. Oud oil (Dehn Al Oud) is 100% pure steam or hydro-distilled essential oil applied neat to pulse points. Oud perfume is a formulated spray fragrance blending oud notes with alcohol or natural carriers.

Question 2

How many grams are in one tola of oud oil?

Accepted Answer

One standard tola is 11.66 grams, which equates to approximately 12ml of neat pure fragrance oil. Half a tola is 5.83 grams (6ml), and one quarter tola (rubaa tola) is 2.92 grams (3ml).

Question 3

How should pure Dehn Al Oud be applied and stored?

Accepted Answer

Apply a single glass-wand swipe to inner wrists, behind earlobes, and neck pulse points. Store in dark glass bottles away from direct sunlight at room temperature; natural oud oil matures and deepens in complexity over years.

Question 4

How do you verify the purity of agarwood oil?

Accepted Answer

Colaba Oud verifies distillations through Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) testing to confirm the natural presence of sesquiterpenes and chromones with zero synthetic additives, phthalates, or adulterants.
